What Sterilization Products Should You Buy?
Shopping for dental supplies can often be a laborious task. One of the key areas to remember to buy supplies for is for sterilization. This is an area often overlooked. We thought we would recommend five products to add to your dental supplies shop. If you decide not to buy these products, it will mean that you will increase the likelihood of infections and contamination occurring, which is not only bad for you, but also bad for your patients. Here are the products on sale at GPS Dent that we would recommend you buy for the purposes of sterilization.
Nylon Sterilization Tubing
First up, we have this Nylon Sterilization Tubing. This tubing is able to be used with the heat sealer. In our tests that we completed, the tubing was able to stay pliable after heat sterilization, even after being subjected to a temperature of over 400°F. This Nylon Sterilization tubing can be used with an autoclave and copes well with chemical sterilizers that are commonly used between treatments. Each roll comes with 100 ft of tubing, so this roll will last for a long time.
Autoclave Tape
Next up, make sure you buy some Autoclave Tape. The tape provides autoclave bags with an air-tight seal, and this reduces contamination and infection. It can also be used with CSR wraps and tubing. To activate the autoclave tape, make use of steam and chemical sterilizers. The roll offers 60 yards of autoclave tape.
Heat Sealer & Accessories
The Heat Sealer and accompanying accessories offer an easy way to carefully seal sterilization tubing in a safe and quick way. The heat sealer is UL-certified, so you can purchase the sealer and the accessories knowing they are safe to use because they meet the latest safety standards. When we tested the heat sealer, it only took two seconds to seal – which is very fast. The sealer itself is constructed with the finest stainless steel, so is built to last.
Indicator Strips – STEAM 1 3/16″ X 2 3/4″ 600/BX
Indicator strips are also another essential purchase in our view. These strips can only be used for the purpose of steam sterilization only. These are available in the following sizes of 1-3/16″ x 2-3/4″ (30mm x 70MM).
